Naviance

  • By the end of your Junior year, you should have earned 180 credits.
  • You must earn a "C" or better grade to move on to the next level of classes. 
  • Colleges/Universities only accept "C" or better grades, which means that if you earn a "D" you will need to re-take (fix) the class for a better grade.
  • Take the PSAT in October 10, 2018 as it is the only year you can qualify for the National Merit Scholars Program. 
  • Take either the SAT College Entrance Exam or the ACT plus writing in the Spring before the end of the year. Students who are applying to competitive programs or Private Colleges will also want to take at least (2) SAT subject area tests as well.   
  • Attend College Fairs. 
  • Sign up and attend College Presentations/Workshops during the advisory tutorial period in the Library.

NAVIANCE TASKS:

  • Make sure that you can log in to your Naviance account!
  • Post all colleges (CSU's, UC's, Out-of-State Schools, Private Universities, and Community Colleges), you are thinking about applying to in the "Colleges I'm Thinking About" section.
  • Revise your Four-Year Plan.
  • Continue to post your extra-curricular activities such as: volunteer hours, clubs, sports, awards, etc... on the Resume Builder. The Resume Builder is a requirement if you are applying to Private Colleges/Universities.

STRUGGLING IN A CLASS:

  • If you are struggling in any of your classes, make sure to work closely with your teachers and ask for help. 
  • Attend the advisory tutorial period.
  • Attend the after school homework center in the Library.
  • Check the tutoring map when teachers are available.
